The products are the legacy of the Arens Controls company founded in 1939 and acquired by Curtiss-Wright in 2013.

History

Charles Arens was among the early pioneers of aviation technology, who made his first flight in 1911. His fascination with machinery, and the control of various mechanical devices, led Mr. Arens to found Arens Controls in 1939. Born from his pioneering spirit and drive to develop innovative new products, Arens Controls quickly grew as a respected supplier of push/pull control cables for airplanes, tanks, submarines, automobiles, commercial trucks and agricultural equipment.

As vehicle design and function became more sophisticated, Arens continued to lead in the development of innovative new products and control system solutions for the burgeoning commercial vehicle market. With the evolution of these technologies, came an increased demand for more sophisticated control systems, and once again, Arens was at the forefront developing innovative "by-wire" vehicle control technology. Today, Arens Controls products and systems are a world leader in this field.

More latterly, as the era of hybrid vehicles unfolded, Arens started to play a major role with the development of integrated vehicle control and power management systems.
