WM388 - Pneumatic Throttle Control Cylinders
The WM-388 is a specialized single-acting cylinder designed for engine speed control. The cylinder’s piston rod is connected to an engine’s throttle lever with linkages supplied by the customer. Levers feature multiple holes for easy connection to a variety of throttle linkages. The piston extends to position the throttle lever in response to an air pressure signal from a three-way regulating control valve.
Some cylinders are equipped with an integral fast-idle cylinder which positions the throttle lever at fast idle when supply pressure is insufficient for normal operation of the throttle system. This allows the engine to be warmed up while the air system is being charged. When installed according to Williams Controls specifications, the WM-388 complies with FMVSS-124. On- and off-highway applications can be accommodated with various models.
